Chicken Shawaya in Morphy Richards Oven
Chicken Shawaya is an Arabic dish. Specialty is it's marinade made from Tomato and onion paste. This marinade is also seen in certain Turkish grills.
1 green chilli
1/4 cup dahi/curd
1 tsp olive oil
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Preheat at 200C Toast convection mode 10 min
Cook at 200C Toast convection mode 45 min
Chop tomato,onion and green chilli .To a mixer, add chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, pepper powder, salt, and chilli powder. To the ground mixture, add juice from half lemon, 1 tsp olive oil, 1/4 cup curd and grind it. Make holes on the chicken with a fork. Chicken should be drained well. Spread the marinade well over the chicken. Refrigerate for three hours. Add some lemon juice to the refrigerated chicken and start to cook.
Meanwhile, after 15 min spread some olive oil over the chicken and resume cooking.
Try chicken shawaya with mayonnaise for an excellent combination.
